Foster Hope provides vital support services and essential items to children in care across New Zealand, ensuring they feel valued and supported during a challenging time.
Since 2019, the combined Zonta International Clubs (4) of Christchurch have united for an Advocacy and Fundraiser to support our District Project each biennium. We have raised thousands of dollars for PADA, Grandparents Raising Grandchildren, and currently, Foster Hope. We invite you to support us in any way you can.
Support through sponsorship (with opportunities starting at $250), joining us for the Walk/Run event, participating in a virtual walk/run in your own town or city, or simply donating to our cause. Thank you for helping us build a better world for women and girls. Together, we can achieve far more than we can alone. Your support makes a significant difference and is greatly appreciated.
Each year, Foster Hope helps over 5,000 children, providing them with backpacks filled with necessities such as toiletries, books, and soft toys to ease their transition into new care environments.
Many children arrive at their new placements with little more than the clothes on their backs. Foster Hope aims to change this by supplying them with backpacks that not only meet their immediate needs but also provide comfort and a sense of belonging.
Foster Hope's vision is to ensure that every child in care knows their community cares about them. By providing essential items and support, they aim to foster hope and promote positive outcomes for these children and their caregivers.
With Zonta's support, as well as the support of dedicated volunteers and generous donors, Foster Hope continues to grow, offering practical assistance to caregivers and bringing a message of love and support to children in care. Their efforts ensure that these children have the best chance of achieving positive outcomes in their lives.

We understand that some of you may not be able to make it on the day to Christchurch, however we know you’d love to participate in this walk/run fundraiser. Get your friends together and register $15 pp and go for a 5KM or 10KM run or 5KM walk in your town or city, so you don’t miss out on the fun day.
