Join the fun with Zonta
and help raise
money for PADA
This year Zonta International celebrates 100 years of serving communities worldwide at a global and local level. Zonta’s aim is to empower women through service and advocacy and clubs throughout the world work hard to improve the legal, political, economic, health and professional status of women.
That’s why Canterbury Zonta Clubs are working to raise funds for Perinatal Anxiety and Depression Aotearoa (PADA). Perinatal is the term used for the time from conception until a child is about two years old. Did you know that 25% of New Zealand women suffer from depression during or after pregnancy and 10% of men experience depression after a child is born? PADA works to educate care providers and families about mental illnesses that occur during the perinatal period -- through seminars, events, resources and information. It is a charity that receives no government funding.
Zonta wants to help PADA raise awareness, including the signs to look for and where to go to seek support. It especially wants to help PADA raise the funds to employ a national community educator.
Please help us help PADA, by registering and donating for the fun run/walk NOW!
